Russell Volksen is a photographer focusing on the American West, with an emphasis on landscape and post-war architecture. He makes images of the transformation of the American landscape into what has now become: a sea of Data and Distribution Centers, Mix Use Retail, new gas stations and so on. What was here before and is replaced after it. His goal is to photograph not the amazing and grand, but the landscaped walkway, blank walls, and exit doors. He contributed to Investigations in Infrastructure published by Subjectively Objective and self published a collection of road side images entitled, Stop and Rest.
Also available for portraits, wedding, and event photography. Please see Portfolio page for examples of work.
